The Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2026 is back! Scheduled to take place on Sunday, 18 January 2026, the marathon will offer a total of approximately 74,000 entry slots. Priority entry for qualified runners is now open until 1 September, and public ballot entry will commence at 10:00 am on 8 September. To encourage more youths to take part in running, the event will host its first-ever Youth Run during the Marathon Expo on 17 January. Find out more about the registration details now.
This year's event features full and half marathons, a 10km race, and a wheelchair race, with categories for athletes with disabilities, following the same route as last year. The full and half marathons will start from Nathan Road in Tsim Sha Tsui, the 10km race will begin on the Eastern Corridor, and the wheelchair race will set off from the Wan Chai Sports Ground, all finishing at Victoria Park.
There will be 20 age categories (10 each for male and female participants), with top three prizes awarded in each category. The marathon will also continue to offer a special incentive scheme, where Hong Kong permanent resident male and female runners in the challenge category who complete the marathon within 3 hours and 3 hours 30 minutes respectively will receive a HK$1,000 cash award, becoming our 'Thousand Dollar Mr. or Ms.'
Please note that 'Public Ballot' entries will be selected through a lucky draw, while 'Athletes with Disabilities' and 'Wheelchair Race' entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Priority entry for qualified runners will only be confirmed upon verification of relevant performance records by the Hong Kong Association of Athletics Affiliates (the 'Organizer').
Entry fees for the marathon are set at HK$600 for the full marathon, HK$520 for the half marathon, HK$420 for the 10km race, and HK $350 for the wheelchair race (10km/fun run).
Have you seen the new logo for the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon? The design captures the dynamic motion of runners moving forward together, integrating running tracks with iconic Hong Kong landmarks. It symbolizes how the resilience and endurance embodied in marathons reflect the very essence of this international city, embodying the spirit of 'Together, We Run Further.'
Following the successful debut of the Marathon Expo last year, the event will once again be held at Kai Tak Sports Park, now featuring the new Youth Run to inspire young people to take up long-distance running and experience the joy of marathons. Given the enthusiastic response to last year's 'Support Small Businesses' initiative, the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2026 will continue this program, focusing on supporting small and medium-sized restaurants. Let's run further together!
